Hi Topaz! So as I mentioned it’s been an ongoing process getting back to creating entirely for myself since having my kids, so here is a selection of some of my favorites from the past decade or so. A lot of these are phone photos I took just now so please excuse the quality. I was just very excited to get these to you!
What I’ve been working a lot on lately is learning to digitally paint, with mixed results. Some of these are characters from books and shows, others from my Dungeons and Dragons game. I’m starting to do portraits of friends now that I’m getting the hang of it.
Another thing I enjoy is crocheting, I started a couple years back.
I have a huge love for printmaking, especially reduction printing, and it’s something I plan on doing again when I’m able to. I’ve been starting to press flowers to use for a future project.
When it comes to art I tend to gravitate towards balance and symmetry so I try and break myself out of that pattern at times and just see what happens but other times I lean into it. I really enjoy ink and pencil a lot but I like to mix the mediums up to get myself out of my comfort zone.
And this last one is one of my favorites. I painted a plaster cast of a breast cancer survivor for a charity auction to benefit breast cancer survivors.
